I need some ideas on cost .Like Starships.
They will be shooting at each other
Blowing up
Moving fast
Space scene
lazer shootouts.
Just give me a ideas on cost for a low budget
movie. The producer is still coming up with money,I am the asst who works for food and a%%% if it makes money.

All depends who you know.
If you know no-one you will be paying top whack.
If you know some whizz with a 3D package who's motivated and interested in making starships then you have your answer.
BTW, it's Light Amplification by Stimulation of Emitted Radiation, there is no Z in LASER.

I always break my budgets down to Pre prod, production, and post. Low budget or not you will need to break down the costs. Whoever is funding this will want to see where their money goes. We producers have a tendency to lie about the true cost, but my advice is do your homework well and everyone will be happy in the end.

i always call in favours, and being on a media course there's plenty of wanna-be film makers who want to help out. just go out and buy loads of models and randomly stick pieces together to create ships and stuff. add a bit of paint and buy loads of fishing wire (thats if u don't have 3D software or can't get access to some)! good luck!

Readng this has made me think about formats.
What's involved in transfer between media, e.g. Video Rushes onto film or more importantly 35mm onto digital/video?
cheers
Paul
